
Shobana Masters is the Co-Managing Partner and co-founder of Lex Chambers, where she leads the firm's competition, regulatory, and policy practice. With extensive experience advising private utilities in the energy sector, she counsels clients on the full range of regulatory and legal issues in electricity, oil, and gas including power purchase and sale agreements, transmission arrangements, gas supply contracts, and regulatory reform.
Shobana began her career as a judicial clerk to Hon'ble Mr. Justice D.K. Jain (retd.) of the Supreme Court of India, before joining one of India's most prestigious firms in their policy and regulatory practice. She subsequently gained international experience, adding a global dimension to an already substantive domestic practice.
As Co-Managing Partner, Shobana's contribution to Lex Chambers extends beyond practice leadership to firm strategy and institutional decision-making bringing the same precision to the firm's direction that she applies to client mandates.
Her practice is defined by deep working knowledge of regulatory institutions, the ability to anticipate policy direction, and advice that is as actionable as it is accurate.
She read law at Symbiosis Law College, Pune, and is enrolled with the Delhi Bar Council and the Delhi High Court Bar Association.
