Mahalakshmi Ganapathy is a Partner at Lex Chambers' Mumbai office, practising across corporate, commercial, and criminal litigation. She has over 13 years of experience as an Indian attorney and has appeared before the Bombay High Court and multiple appellate forums, representing major Indian and foreign corporations in complex legal matters.

 

Her practice has a particular focus on securities law and regulatory enforcement. She has handled extensive proceedings under the SEBI Act  covering debarment, penalty, criminal prosecution, inquiry, and settlement and holds the distinction of having represented SEBI as a prosecutor, giving her a command of enforcement proceedings that is rare in private practice.

 

Mahalakshmi graduated from Government Law College, Mumbai (integrated programme), holds a Diploma in Cyber Laws, and a Post Graduate Diploma from the National Law School, Bengaluru.

 

Before joining Lex Chambers, she worked with top corporates and law firms and has briefed several leading senior counsels at the Bombay High Court.

 

She has also been appointed as amicus by courts and is committed to pro bono work. Her practice is defined by strong oratory, disciplined argumentation, and a directness that both courts and clients consistently value.

 

She is enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.
