Mahalakshmi is a Partner in the Mumbai office of the firm and practices in Corporate, Commercial, and Criminal verticals. She has over 13 years of experience as an Indian attorney and has worked with top corporates and law firms before joining Lex Chambers. In the past, she has briefed several leading and senior counsels practicing at the Bombay High Court.
Mahalakshmi has valuable experience in working extensively on the various proceedings initiated under SEBI Act e.g., debarment, penalty, criminal proceedings, inquiry proceedings, and settlement proceedings, and holds the privilege of having to represent SEBI as a prosecutor. She has represented top Indian and foreign corporations on a range of complex matters before various courts and appellate forums.
Mahalakshmi generally maintains an approachable personality, and in her own words,” gets a kick when appearing in courts.” She ensures that she is investing her time in pro bono matters and has occasionally also been appointed as an amicus by the courts.
For Mahalakshmi, law was a natural calling, and she had her eyes set on the profession since she was a teenager. She grew up idolizing several leading counsels and followed their journey closely which further led to her developing a strong passion for litigation. Mahalakshmi has a strong and outspoken personality and is highly skilled in skills related to reasoning, argumentation, and oratory. She understands the necessity of getting things and credits a good part of her working style to Lex Chambers.

She is a graduate of the prestigious Government Law College Mumbai, where she pursued the integrated program, as well as a Diploma in Cyber Laws. Mahalakshmi holds additional credentials from National Law School Bengaluru in the form of a Post Graduate Diploma. She is enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.
