Apoorva Misra is Chair of Disputes and Litigation at Lex Chambers, with 24 years of experience in regulatory and commercial litigation across the power, oil and gas, mining, and environment sectors.

 

He has represented private companies, government entities, and consumer organisations before State and Central Electricity Regulatory Commissions, the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board, Appellate Tribunals, Arbitral Tribunals, the National Green Tribunal, High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India. His reported judgments include eight Supreme Court decisions and five High Court decisions, with an extensive body of Tribunal-level precedent across energy and environment matters.

 

Apoorva's practice covers power purchase and transmission disputes, compensatory tariff claims, change-in-law matters, renewable energy curtailment, stressed asset acquisitions, gas pipeline authorisation and tariff challenges, environmental clearances, and forest land approvals. He also advises on construction and procurement disputes, insolvency interfaces, and debt recovery matters.

 

Before joining Lex Chambers, he was a Partner at Ahlawat & Associates and HSA Advocates, and spent a decade at J. Sagar Associates. 

 

He is empanelled with the Assam and Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commissions, and is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association and Delhi High Court Bar Association.
