Rahul Dhawan is the Managing Partner and co-founder of Lex Chambers, with 18 years of practice spanning corporate commercial law, regulatory advisory, and dispute resolution. He has built a distinctive practice at the intersection of sport, entertainment, media, infrastructure, and maritime law advising listed companies, private equity firms, family offices, and business houses alongside an exclusive roster of athletes, celebrities, production houses, and sporting leagues.

Rahul's approach is grounded in a simple principle: legal advice that doesn't account for business reality is incomplete. Clients retain him not just for legal solutions, but for the judgment and conviction to see them through.

Before founding Lex Chambers, Rahul worked with leading counsel at the Supreme Court and High Courts before spending nearly five years at one of India's top law firms, where his early assumption of client responsibility set him apart. Under his leadership, Lex Chambers has grown into a full-service firm with offices in Delhi and Mumbai, known for the quality and accountability of its advice across a diverse client base.

Rahul is also a legal advisor to the Government's TOPS scheme supporting elite athletes, and is committed to education access through the Out of School Children Project.

As the Managing Partner

With a collective practice of over 18 years to date, Rahul, a first-generation lawyer started Lex Chambers with his most trustworthy colleagues, his co-founding partners Vishesh and Shobana, whom he met during his time at college and his former workplace.

As a Proactive learner and dynamic do-er; Rahul has done some cutting-edge work in the field of sports & entertainment, media, infrastructure, maritime, and dispute resolution. His client's list boasts of listed companies, start up’s, private equity firms, business houses, celebrities, sportsmen & sportswomen, family offices, HNI’s and private practice clients, etc. He has actively been involved with the education sector, especially with regard to the pioneering work in matters related to the Right to Education Act. He has been involved in advocacy regarding the law and has been assisting various schools, including CBSE schools and international baccalaureate schools in this arena.

Prior to starting Lex Chambers, Rahul was working with leading Counsels and Senior Counsels practicing before the Supreme Court, High Court, and lower courts. He then went on to spend almost half a decade with one of the top legal firms in India. It is here that his relentless pursuit of excellence helped him stand out. Where many juniors would call it a day, Rahul would shadow his senior in courts or sit in meetings to gain first-hand exposure. He also was trusted by senior leaders at the firm to manage clients and take decisions, which was appreciated by several senior colleagues at the firm for being unlike most young lawyers.

Serving as the Managing Partner of the firm, he has successfully navigated the firm, and its operations and planned its growth since its inception. He has convincingly led the firm from the front, enhancing its capabilities and expanding the services offered.

As an individual who is driven by values and has a strong emphasis on relationship building, Rahul finds joy in the success of others. A value that Rahul holds dear to him, is client satisfaction - which personally is of utmost importance for his success. As a lawyer, Rahul holds expertise in corporate commercial, as well as regulatory and dispute resolution matters. Rahul is also retained as an exclusive legal advisor for several prominent athletes, celebrities, production houses, sporting leagues, players associations, and individual thought leaders.

Rahul is invested in pro-bono work with the Government on the TOPS scheme to support young athletes on the legal front apart from contributing his time to the Out of School Children Project, supporting and empowering children, especially girls in rural parts who are deprived of education for varied reasons.
